Lush…..bath bombs and cosmetics review!!

Share this:

Okay so I know the whole planet has been raving over Lush cosmetics forever now. My friends have all been raving about Lush for a while now too and I finally caved and went to the store!! I know I am a little late to the Lush party. But- I’m so excited to now be a part of the club!!!

I got to my local store and I wasn’t disappointed the place was beautiful between the colours of all the bath bombs and bubble bars to all the fragrances lotions and potions I didn’t know what to grab first!! Thankfully a worker (who was outstanding wish I got her name) must have spotted my frazzled face and rushed to my aid, she told me everything I needed to know about anything I wanted all the ingredients, what the products were used for, what the ingredients were she was an encyclopaedia of Lush products and was more than helpful which i absolutely loved.

So I picked my products and she gave me two books on all things Lush to take home. Oooh I was so excited I couldn’t wait to get home and run a warm bath and relax…

So what products did I get??

Intergalactic bath bomb:

The first product that caught my eye was the intergalactic bath bombs omg!! They were beautiful!! Such an array of colours and glitter and the smell omg it’s like heaven in a ball. So here’s a little about the intergalactic bath bomb…

An awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy takes you on a trip around the Milky Way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky. Before you leap too far, rogue layers of vetivert and cedarwood take hold, evoking the warmth of human contact far from home and a hint of 80s aftershave. Return from your intergalactic brief encounter as the grounding scent brings you gently back from orbit.

This bath bomb didn’t disappoint this ballistic takes the experience to the next level when it’s used in the bath. Upon contact with water, Intergalactic immediately begins to spew trails of vivid blue across the surface of the tub. As the bath bomb continues to fizz, elements of the pink, white and yellow make an appearance – painting swirls of colour that look like miniature galaxies in your bath.

When the bath bomb has been in the water for a good minute, you’ll begin to notice that the centre of the product is full of beautiful golden lustre, which filters out with the waves of colour and creates a stunning display.

What I loved about Intergalactic is that once you’re submerged under the water, you can hear the crackling of the popping candy and enjoy the swirls of golden glitter that sway and pulsate under the surface. Furthermore, this bath bomb turns the water into a deep and very rich shade of blue – definitely making you feel like the guardian of your own galaxy. While the glitter is very much present throughout the water, it doesn’t give you a messy experience and washes away very easily which is amazing. Definitely give this 5*

Twilight bath bomb

This was straight up second to catch my eye it was beautiful bright pink and the smell oh my goodness I can’t even drescribe it it smells like a warm hug on a hot summers night in the garden it’s beautiful.

The Lush Twilight bath bomb starts off with an explosion of the most dreamy, comforting scent.  It’s warm, calming, and slightly sweet.  Although Lush’s website lists Lavender Oil as the featured ingredient, it definitely doesn’t take center-stage.  Twilight also contains three other oils – Benzoin Resinoid (produces a candy-like sweetness) , Tonka Absolute (creates a warmer, nutty-sweet scent), and Ylang Ylang Oil (a floral scent).  Together, they form the most amazing fragrance, with a nice balance of each.

Here’s how the Lush Twilight bath bomb works to get you in that sleepy-time mood, according to Lush’s website:

• Herbal tonic: Lavender acts as nature’s melatonin to relax your mind for a more restful sleep.

• Bedtime story: Take the bitter edge off of sleeplessness with sweet tonka absolute, vanilla’s saucier cousin.

• Comforting and relaxing: Twilight has a slow-paced froth, it bobs about in the tub releasing its sweet scent.

The Lush Twilight bath bomb adds the most beautiful color to your bath water.  It starts off pink, then as the bath bomb opens up, it spews out blue, which, when mixed with the pink, creates a gorgeous blue-purple color that’s reminiscent of the night sky.  The next little surprise are some very fine specks of silver glitter that float around on and in the water.  The result the most magical looking pool of night sky and twinkling stars.

As for the bath tub clean-up, you don’t really have to worry with this one.  I didn’t have a problem with staining or excess glitter around the tub (which is great, because who wants to worry about that right before bedtime?).

Overall, for the scent and gorgeous bath water alone, I’m hooked on Twilight.  It’s become my go-to bath bomb for evening baths!!! I definitely give this 5*

This sleepy body lotion was most definitely on my list to buy! I’m a total night owl I can never get to sleep even on sleeping medication. I had heard so many people raving about this product and just how good it was so I knew I had to give it a try even though I was pretty sceptical about it working.

What Lush say…

You’ll sleep well after dipping into this dreamy lotion, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comfortingly sweet tonka absolute. A rich, malty and floral perfume conjures up visions of sugar plums and hot drinks topped with whipped cream while the heavenly ministrations of creamy Fair Trade organic cocoa butter and delicate lavender water cool and enrich the skin. Blanket your body in this lovely lotion before stepping into soft pyjamas for snuggly nights beside the fire.

On first opening it I was suspicious of the purple colour. It just feels odd to run a purple liquid on your body. It however smells lovely. Earthy, creamy, of lavevdar, with a little sweetness.

Fresh out of the bath I rubbed it in my legs, tummy, chest and arms. Curled up in bed, picked up my book to read and For the first time in years I’d fallen asleep not long after my sceptical head hit the pillow. It had worked? Night two I done the exact same thing and boom straight away I fell asleep to be awoken by my alarm in the morning I couldn’t believe it I’ve found a cure!! Praise the lord this mama gets sleep now!! I highly recommend this product and give it 10*

Toner Fizzers

The next thing I wanted to try was the lush toner waters and the amazing shopkeeper pointed me in the direction of these tiny little tea tree toner fizzers. They smell amazing and they are antibacterial too which is awesome I don’t have problematic skin but I wanted to try a new toner for my skin care routine.

What Lush say….

If your skin could use a little extra TLC, try this powerful yet gentle treatment of tea tree oil and aloe vera. Tea tree is known for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties, and helps to combat the bacteria that causes spots. Aloe vera is kind, cooling and wonderfully gentle on the skin. Drop into a bowl of hot water, releasing the steam to open pores and allow the essential oils to be absorbed.

I absolutely love this product not only can you use it when it’s warm and fizzy but you can also store the water in a bottle in the fridge and use it as a normal toner for a few days too!! I mean come on what more can you ask for?! Definitely recommend these and give them 5*

Eau Roma toner

My next purchase was the eau Roma water spray. I suffer from really bad anxiety and the shopkeeper (did I say she was amazing) recommended this toner water and it’s great for when your face needs that little refresh but it also is great for relaxation due to the lavender water ingredient.

What Lush say…

This is an elegant formula that’s suitable for even the most sensitive skins. Rose water will help to calm and reduce redness, whilst lavender water will balance and soften the skin. This was created as a way to hydrate and soothe the skin both gently and effectively. Use it for a quick, refreshing spritz or to remove any traces of makeup or cleanser.

I was again a bit skeptical about this product nothing like this had ever helped me with my anxiety before so why would this work?! Well as I got out the shop (I was in a large shopping centre) I spritzed myself all over my face neck and chest. Usually I’d feel really anxious being in a busy place with lots of people and sometimes even take panic attacks BUT 5 minutes after spraying this ‘water’ I was walking around chatting away to my mother like I’ve never had anxiety in my life I couldn’t believe it I now carry it in my bag at all times!! I HIGHLY recommend this product if not for anxiety it’s a fantastic toner in itself! I give this 10*

Overall you can see I am now a huge fan of lush and will be going back very soon to try even more products. The staff were outstanding and the prices are great too very budget friendly.

What’s your favourite Lush product??

  1. I want to love Lush so much – but I suffer from both migraine and cluster headache so the cacophony of different scents is a cruel trigger for me. I’m fine with the products – just not the store *sigh*
